Program Analyst

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is seeking a Program Analyst for the Canine Training Center (CTC), located within Mission Support, Training & Development, Training Centers Division in San Antonio, Texas. As DHS's "Center for Excellence" for explosives detection training, the CTC operates a $12 million state-of-the-art facility to train, evaluate, and deploy canine teams nationwide. Major duties: This Program Analyst position is located Training and Development- Canine Training Center, Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to: Analyzes and evaluates program areas to determine areas in which progress is unsatisfactory and to determine courses of action to remedy deficiencies. this includes continuous review of periodic progress reports, specials reports, correspondence, etc., from other government agencies and activities, and functional elements. Applies a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment of the programs, and identifies areas needing specials emphasis or improvement. Formulate projects an recommend assessment criteria for the evaluations of TSA operational programs and contributes to the performance of meeting mission requirements. Communicates with internal and external managers as well as representatives of other government agencies and private industries to obtain information and provide guidance on critical funding/program issues, and make recommendations affecting the major programs. These communications frequently involve negotiation and/or persuasion. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements: You must possess U.S. Citizenship or be a U.S. National.
