INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST

You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST in the Department of the Navy of FORWARD SHIP SUSTAINMENT NAPLES, Italy. Major duties: You will provide expert-level technical support for SATCOM and CANES software, including installations, System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT), troubleshooting, and resolution of trouble tickets and CASREPs (Casualty Reports). You will coordinate with In-Service Engineering Agents (ISEAs) and other program stakeholders to ensure proper operation and configuration of systems that CANES depends upon (e.g., ISNS hardware infrastructure, interfacing systems). You will review the SATCOM and CANES system documentation and provides detailed feedback and redlines to documentation developers within SATCOM and CANES ISEA/SSA to correct deficiencies and ensure accuracy. You will communicate effectively with personnel at all levels, both internal and external, across organizational boundaries. Participates in conferences, meetings, program reviews, technical evaluations, and provides inputs for publications. You will maintain current knowledge of the CANES and SATCOM policies, planning, operational technologies, and standards. Modifies standard techniques and develops innovative approaches to address complex technical challenges. You will perform infrastructure management configuration and use of hardware and software including Avocent and Black Box KVMs, and associated system/rack components. You will provide on-the-job (OJT) familiarization training to fleet personnel regarding loading, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the CANES systems.
