Accounting Technician

About the Position: Serves as an Accounting Technician to the Finance and accounting Officer, St. Paul District. Please see more details below in Duties. Major duties: Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates incoming financial source documents, identifies discrepancies and their sources, and prescribes corrective action. Examines a variety of documents, records and accounting reports to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting policies, new operating procedures, and revised regulations. Determines proper corrective action necessary to resolve operational problem conditions. The work impacts the day-to-day processing of financial and accounting execution data. Participates in decision making sessions and advises program directors on regulatory requirements, financial policies, and data interpretation. Performs detailed analysis supporting accountants and financial analysts.
