Supervisory Civil Engineer (Hydraulics)

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serve as Chief of the Hydraulics and Hydrology Section. Work under the administrative supervision of the Chief, Geotechnical and Engineering Services Branch. Responsible for supervising all activities and personnel of the Hydraulics and Hydrology Section. Major duties: Serve as Chief of the Hydraulics and Hydrology Section, responsible for supervising all activities and personnel of the Hydraulics and Hydrology Section. Manage and provide technical oversight of assigned functions in the areas of coastal engineering and flood control, hydrology, hydraulics, and sedimentation. Maintain close coordination with other elements within the District as a key project delivery team member, such as Project Formulation, Project Operations, and Construction-Operations Division. Attends conferences with other technical and administrative, advisory, and staff elements of the District, to discuss and resolve problems and controversies and to coordinate the work with other District elements. Responsible for the efficient and economical operation of the Section through exercise of administrative and technical supervision over a workforce.
