Description

***************************************** Product Manager, Legal Client Acquisition ***************************************** *Company:* DocDraft *Location:* Remote (United States) *Employment:* Full-time -------------- About DocDraft -------------- DocDraft is building a new way for people to access legal services—and a fundamentally better way for law firms to acquire clients. Thousands of consumers and small businesses use DocDraft to navigate legal matters, draft documents, and access legal help. Along the way, we develop a deep understanding of each client's legal needs, circumstances, and objectives. We're leveraging that advantage to build DocDraft Leads, a platform that connects law firms with highly qualified prospective clients. Traditional legal lead generation is expensive, opaque, and inefficient. Attorneys often spend thousands of dollars acquiring leads with limited insight into the prospective client's needs or likelihood of becoming a paying customer. DocDraft is building a better alternative. By combining detailed client information, intelligent matching, and a transparent purchasing experience, we believe we can fundamentally change how law firms acquire clients. Our ambition is to build the most effective client acquisition platform in the legal industry. -------- The Role -------- We're looking for an exceptional *Product Manager, Legal Client Acquisition* to own and scale DocDraft Leads. This is an opportunity to build a product from an early stage, working directly with our founders to figure out how to turn an initial offering into a large, durable business. You'll own the product experience for attorneys, from discovering DocDraft Leads and signing up to purchasing client opportunities, generating revenue for their firms, and becoming repeat customers. We're looking for someone who thinks deeply about customer behavior, understands business models and unit economics, and knows how to build products that deliver measurable economic value. You might have experience building marketplaces, growing self-service SaaS products, developing monetization systems, or helping small businesses acquire customers and grow revenue. What matters most isn't your industry background. It's your ability to understand a market quickly, identify what drives customer value, and translate those insights into a product that customers love and are willing to pay for. This isn't a role focused on managing a backlog or coordinating feature releases. We're looking for someone who approaches product management with the mindset of a business owner, combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, and is comfortable figuring things out in an ambiguous environment. -------------- What You'll Do -------------- Own and Grow DocDraft Leads --------------------------- * Own the end-to-end attorney experience, from discovery and onboarding through purchasing, repeat usage, and retention. * Identify the biggest opportunities to increase activation, conversion, customer spending, and lifetime value. * Develop and test strategies around pricing, packaging, incentives, referrals, and product-led growth. * Work with engineering and design to rapidly build, ship, and iterate on product improvements. * Balance short-term growth opportunities with investments that create long-term competitive advantages. Build a Product That Delivers Measurable Customer Value ------------------------------------------------------- * Develop a deep understanding of how law firms acquire clients, evaluate opportunities, and measure return on investment. * Identify what makes a prospective client valuable to a particular firm and how DocDraft can consistently deliver that value. * Explore ways to improve matching, lead quality, purchasing experiences, and client conversion. * Identify opportunities to extend the product into adjacent workflows that help customers generate more revenue. * Build experiences that make DocDraft increasingly valuable as customers continue using it. Develop and Execute Product Strategy ------------------------------------ * Work directly with our founders to define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap. * Evaluate different growth and business models, including self-service adoption, sales-assisted acquisition, and deeper product integrations. * Identify the most important assumptions underlying our strategy and design experiments to validate them. * Make thoughtful tradeoffs between product complexity, customer value, speed of execution, and commercial impact. * Translate ambiguous opportunities into clear priorities and actionable plans. Understand and Optimize the Business ------------------------------------ * Own product metrics including activation, conversion, purchase frequency, retention, and revenue per customer. * Develop a deep understanding of customer acquisition costs, unit economics, and lifetime value. * Analyze customer behavior and product performance to identify growth opportunities. * Partner with sales and marketing to improve customer acquisition, onboarding, and monetization. * Use data, experimentation, and direct customer feedback to guide decisions. Work Closely With Customers --------------------------- * Speak regularly with attorneys and law firm owners to understand their needs, challenges, and purchasing behavior. * Develop firsthand knowledge of how customers operate and what drives their economic decisions. * Translate customer insights into product improvements and strategic opportunities. * Build a product that delivers clear, measurable ROI and earns sustained customer engagement. ---------------------- What We're Looking For ---------------------- * *4+ years of experience in product management* , ideally at a high-growth technology company or startup. * A track record of building, launching, or scaling products that drive measurable business outcomes. * Strong product judgment and an ability to identify high-impact opportunities in complex or ambiguous environments. * A commercial mindset, with a deep understanding of monetization, customer economics, and revenue growth. * Strong analytical skills and experience using data and experimentation to inform decisions. * The ability to move fluidly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution. * Experience working closely with engineering and design to ship high-quality products quickly. * Strong customer intuition and a willingness to develop deep expertise in unfamiliar industries. * Excellent communication skills, intellectual curiosity, and a bias toward action. Particularly Relevant Experience -------------------------------- We're especially interested in candidates who have worked on: *Marketplaces and two-sided platforms* * Products that connect buyers and sellers, manage supply and demand, or facilitate transactions. * Marketplace liquidity, matching, pricing, monetization, or retention. *Products that help small businesses grow* * Platforms that help SMBs acquire customers, generate revenue, or improve business performance. * Products where customers measure value primarily through financial ROI. *Product-led growth and monetization* * Self-service onboarding, activation, conversion, pricing, packaging, or retention. * Products that successfully convert free or low-commitment users into recurring paying customers. *Early-stage products and new business lines* * Launching products from scratch or scaling them from initial traction. * Operating in ambiguous environments where the product, business model, and go-to-market strategy are still evolving. Experience in legal technology or legal lead generation is welcome, but *not required*. We're much more interested in how you think, what you've built, and the results you've achieved. ------------------ Why Join DocDraft? ------------------ *Build an entirely new business.* You'll have meaningful ownership over a product with the potential to become a major revenue driver for DocDraft. *Start with a unique competitive advantage.* DocDraft already has direct relationships with thousands of consumers and small businesses navigating legal matters, along with rich information about their needs. *Work directly with the founders.* You'll have substantial autonomy and influence over product strategy, priorities, and execution. *Solve challenging product problems.* From matching and marketplace dynamics to monetization and retention, you'll tackle problems with meaningful commercial and technical complexity. *Create measurable value.* You'll build products that directly help small businesses acquire customers and grow revenue. *Help reshape a massive industry.* Legal services is a large, fragmented market with enormous opportunities for better technology and business models. ------------ How to Apply ------------ Tell us about a product you've built or grown that delivered measurable value to customers.
