Description

----------------- About the company ----------------- Our client is a fast-growing, venture-backed healthtech startup building AI-powered communication infrastructure for healthcare. Clinics today leave a large share of patient calls unanswered while their staff is buried in administrative work. This company is changing that with AI agents that complete entire workflows end-to-end (scheduling, billing, prescription refills), so care teams can focus on patients instead of phones. The platform has already handled hundreds of thousands of patient interactions for virtual care companies, health systems, and one of the largest health insurers in the US. The company was founded by a physician-entrepreneur with experience on the founding teams of leading digital health companies, together with a former big-tech engineering leader who has built and led AI/ML teams at scale. That combination gives the team a deep understanding of both the clinical and the technical sides of healthcare communication. The team is small, mission-driven, and moves fast, with a clear goal: no patient call should go unanswered. -------------- About the role -------------- Our client is rebuilding healthcare communication with AI agents that handle scheduling, billing, prescription refills, and follow-ups end-to-end, so healthcare teams can focus on patient care. Today, a large share of patient calls go unanswered while clinic staff are overwhelmed by administrative work. Their AI agents don’t just answer calls, they complete workflows from start to finish. To date, the platform has handled hundreds of thousands of patient interactions across virtual care companies, health systems, and a $5B health insurance company, and the team recently won head-to-head deals against established competitors with major clients. You’ll join a $10M seed-funded team that is scaling fast, led by founders who have built successful healthcare companies before and a former big-tech engineering leader. In this role, you’ll own meaningful full-stack features in production healthcare systems, working on AI-powered workflows, real-time voice infrastructure, and EHR integrations that directly impact patient care. The team works fully in person from its office in New York City. ---------------- Responsibilities ---------------- * Build and operate production full-stack features powering AI-driven healthcare communication. * Integrate with EHRs, legacy healthcare systems, and real-time voice infrastructure. * Collaborate closely with product, design, and senior engineers to turn customer needs into shipped software. * Debug and improve reliability, performance, and scalability across live systems. * Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and evolving engineering best practices. ------------ Requirements ------------ * 3–6 years of full-time, full-stack software engineering experience at a company (beyond founder or project work). * Experience shipping production software from 0 to 1. * Experience crafting intuitive UX/UI * You’re product-minded with a keen design sense. * Hands-on ownership of a backend (Node/TypeScript, Postgres) and a React frontend in production. * A high-intensity builder who ships independently at startup pace with little guidance. * At least one clear signal of excellence: recent experience at a top-tier tech company, a fast-moving VC-backed startup, or an elite school. * Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field. ------------ Nice to have ------------ * Experience working with LLMs and voice technologies. -------- Benefits -------- * Competitive equity
