The Retail Engineering Apps & Services(REAS) team is responsible for delivering the e- commerce systems and solutions that enable and support the buying experience on apple.com. We build one of the slickest e-commerce site on planet while keeping Apple brand at the forefront in every aspect of the engineering. Our solutions are designed for global reach while keeping the regional nuances in mind. We use the latest in open source technologies in addition to building our own frameworks. The breadth of our engineering spans front-end technologies, middleware services, application servers, Cloud infrastructure (AWS along with other leading cloud providers) and various type of relational, newSQL and noSQL databases and sure to cater to anyone looking for a significant career in a highly transparent and rewarding environment. We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer who is passionate about operational excellence through automation and engineering processes. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless integration of development and operations processes, to deliver best in class and highly available systems. The main responsibilities for this position include: Analyze and evaluate the technology options/feasibility and define the build, delivery, and deployment pipeline for applications Provide leadership in implementing a secure, robust and highly available DevOps pipeline Automate build & deployment processes Work closely with engineers, QA, project managers throughout the software lifecycle in optimally delivering outstanding, large scale systems Implement push button deployment at scale with zero downtime ---------------------- Minimum Qualifications ---------------------- * BS degree in computer science or equivalent field with 3+ years experience * Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Git, and automated build systems such as Jenkins and * Gradle * Highly skilled at developing and debugging in Java, GoLang or Python * Hands-on experience with Public Cloud Providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, AliCloud ------------------------ Preferred Qualifications ------------------------ * Proactive and solution-oriented, keen to automate work by building tools and web * applications with REST, JSON, or similar protocols * • Experience managing large-scale production infrastructure, including clusters of 100s– * 1000s of machines and zero-downtime deployments. * • Familiarity with Linux internals, filesystems, and networking, plus web servers and load * balancers (Apache HTTP Server, Nginx, Envoy) * • Experience managing large-scale production infrastructure, including clusters of 100s– * 1000s of machines and zero-downtime deployments * • Skilled at troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving system and performance issues, * using tools like Splunk for monitoring and investigation * Working knowledge of CVEs, OWASP, and cloud security/compliance.
