Supervisory Accountant

About the Position: This position supports the mission of the J-8, Financial Operations Directorate and is located in Falls Church, Virginia or Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Major duties: Serve as the Audit Support Branch Chief in the DHP, Financial Reporting and Compliance Division within the DAD-FO/J8. Direct the audit response according to the standards of the DoD Financial Statement Audit Guide and in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS). Responsible for all financial statement reporting components to ensure the required audit trail exists per required regulations and DHA/ SMA guidance. Plan, design, and develop, within Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) the procedures to be followed in reviewing and analyzing accounting data entered in the system of record. Responsible for ensuring each auditor cited Notification of Findings and Recommendations has a progressing corrective action plan (CAP) loaded in the OUSD (Comptroller) CAP tracking system. Direct the work assignments of the Accountants Finance Management Analysts. Perform supervisory duties for government Accountants and Finance Management Analysts.
