General Engineer

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a Senior Project Engineer (General Engineering) for the Directorate of Public Works(DPW). Major duties: Uses professional engineering skills in engineering disciplines to review contract plans, specifications and work statements for adequacy from the construction point of view for new construction, modification, repair and maintenance of facilities. Serves as technical advisor and consultant on various engineering (i.e., civil, mechanical and electrical, etc.) matters and other aspects of projects. Provides technical direction to lower-level engineers assigned to various facets of complex projects. Projects may be valued at multi-million-dollar range. Coordinates, monitors and/or performs scheduled and unscheduled inspections of the construction activities at project sites, as needed, or at the request of the construction inspector, customer, contractor, Corp of Engineers, or other DoD agencies.
