IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK SERVICES/CUSTOMER SUPPORT)

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Information Technology (IT) specialist responsible for base level administration, operation, and maintenance of the installation's computer network and for providing technical assistance, training, and support to management and customers. Major duties: Administers the base local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN). Determines customer requirements and assists customers by recognizing and analyzing trends and providing instruction and orientation services. Provides customer technical assistance and support. Conducts feasibility studies to identify and analyze network failures and analyzes data to determine if trends exist which forecast the need for future replacement or modification of network hardware and software.
