FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Major duties: Performs financial management reviews and evaluations for assigned areas of responsibility. Interprets financial and administrative policies, regulations and higher level guidance adapting the guidelines to the situation at hand. Prepares and presents various reports, briefings, and papers and proposes courses of actions, recommendations and options to drive business solutions. Advises DFAS officials at all organizational levels regarding contract issues and contractor performance. Investigates and develops new and improved methods for an analyzing, tracking, and accounting for resource utilization with emphasis on contractor support, and assists in developing guidelines for more effective management of contractual resources.
